Lethbridge Rotary Helps with Sanitation Project in Togo

According to the United Nations, some 2.6 billion people – half of the developing world – live without improved sanitation. In sub-Saharan Africa, coverage is a mere 36 percent.

The Rotary Club of Lethbridge and Rotary in the small West African country of Togo have joined forces help create a healthier environment at one of the country’s busy border crossings.

What are the challenges, rewards and barriers of helping in the development of a water and comfort station in this far-away land?

What are the risks of becoming involved in an international project in a foreign country?
